recently,I got a question from one hospital in Iran about using para-formaldehyde tablets 1g for sterilization.
they had sent me a fax from label of product. on label was mentioned "4004.0900" 900 tabletten paraformaldehyd-tableten1 g MERCK. I think this product is yours.
if yes, please kindly let me know about technical information for using, dosage and side effect of this product.
((IHCC is an non-profit international institute working on sterilization and infection control in Iran. I hope your assists will decrease infections in hospitals.))

sorry unable to help. Product Manager informed me of the following quote:
Paraformaldehyde sold for disinfection purposes is classified as a biocide
in many countries in Europe or worldwide. Regarding the multitude of
different national regulatory demands (e.g. registration) for biocides
varying from country to country, and with respect to the forthcoming
requirements due to the European Biocidal Products Directive 98/8/EC, we
decided that it is no longer economically reasonable to include
paraformaldehyde for disinfection in our product line.
We no longer have any information on this product.
